Phoenix Sunrise
I remember that one cool and crisp dawn,
A scene of an elegant magnificence
Soared in the sky amongst the stars.
It was there as hot as the furnace
And as cool as the sea,
Its wings were glorious shades of red,
Streaked with veins of molten gold
The tips ignited with flames.
As I stood on the top of my world,
It stood on a plane even higher
Ascending towards the sunrise.
I stood there unable to move,
A feeling of wonder filled my soul,
As if all the darkness in me was burnt away.
The grandeur only left long after the sun had risen.
Its memory was etched in my mind,
A hope for a rebirth of now
And the start of a new future.
A scene of an elegant magnificence
Soared in the sky amongst the stars.
It was there as hot as the furnace
And as cool as the sea,
Its wings were glorious shades of red,
Streaked with veins of molten gold
The tips ignited with flames.
As I stood on the top of my world,
It stood on a plane even higher
Ascending towards the sunrise.
I stood there unable to move,
A feeling of wonder filled my soul,
As if all the darkness in me was burnt away.
The grandeur only left long after the sun had risen.
Its memory was etched in my mind,
A hope for a rebirth of now
And the start of a new future.
