Phoenix Sunrise

I remember that one cool and crisp dawn,
A scene of an elegant magnificence
Soared in the sky amongst the stars.
It was there as hot as the furnace
And as cool as the sea,
Its wings were glorious shades of red,
Streaked with veins of molten gold
The tips ignited with flames.

As I stood on the top of my world,
It stood on a plane even higher
Ascending towards the sunrise.
I stood there unable to move,
A feeling of wonder filled my soul,
As if all the darkness in me was burnt away.
The grandeur only left long after the sun had risen.
Its memory was etched in my mind,
A hope for a rebirth of now
And the start of a new future.

Partings

We parted ways and never once looked back.
We held our heads high and clenched our fist.
We prayed and believed in a future reunion.
A day filled with new tales and memories to share,
It lies deep in our hearts waiting for the right time.

Flawed Journeys

The world we are in today is a journey.
A journey in which we strive for perfect.
We must start by defining perfection.
And if we pass even that we must still consider,
What will we do when we reach perfection?
The ideal is different for all and ever changing
We have hopes for perfection because we have flaws today.
But I believe that this flaw is what's best in this ending journey.
We have a fear so we know courage.
We have sadness so we experience happiness.
We have the cold so we feel warmth.
And we have loneliness so we appreciate each other.

Courageous

something I thought of:

Courageous is not the person who knows no fear but the person who felt fear and overcame it, is the one who is named courageous.
