Faded Gold

My faded memories can no longer remember
When the chained heart appeared,
The colour is as faded as the memories I possess.
The empty knowledge of its beginnings
Does not dull the colour of its shine,
Reflecting the rays that strike its surface
With greater radiance than the sun.
No bigger than a raindrop
Its weight of two feathers goes unnoticed,
As the metallic links tinkle together
Images of a far distant place
In a faded time, form in my mind.
Inseparable; it chains itself to my heart,
With each chink of its links
Another memory is threaded together.
