Deep in the Shadows

It was so much easier back then,
to fight for ones’ country,
for ones’ beliefs,
for the things you want to protect.
But the meaning is no longer true,
the war being a bloody fight shrouded by fog.
No longer in the light,
its true intent in the shadows,
Laced with deceit…
